At the Banksia Grove Veterinary Hospital, we offer a full range of dentistry services for your pet, including ‘scale and polish’ and surgical tooth extractions. Dental problems in pets can be quite painful and often cause them difficulty when chewing and eating. Dental problems can also lead to other more serious medical problems throughout the rest of your pet’s body, so we also recommend a number of methods you can use at home to keep your pet’s teeth in tip-top condition.
How to keep your pet’s teeth clean:
Your pet’s teeth and gums can be kept cleaner for longer by brushing them with special enzyme enhanced, flavoured toothpaste or cleansing gels. You can also:
- – Feed your cat or dog RAW chicken necks or wings, dentabones/dentabits and other chew treats.
- – Feed Hill’s t/d diet. This is a dry food, which has been specially designed to clean your pet’s teeth as they eat. It is available for dogs and cats.
Eukanuba dry food biscuits (for dogs and cats) now include the ‘dental defence system’ which helps reduce plaque and tartar buildup on teeth both during and after meals.
